Vista is not a security end all. Already sveral exploits have been seen. To protect yourself you will need the standards Host SecuritySoftware Firewall, Hardware Firewall, Network Intrusion Prevention, Anti Virus, Network Anti Virus Protection

More to follow next Tuesday on Vista security.

There are several excellent Anti Virus vendors. Trend Micro is a company I've used for year s and have great respect for. In fact I have worked directly with thier engineering team and have deep confidence in their poroduct.

The one thing you really must do it make sure that you hve a contract for autopdates and turn on the option for auto updates. If you don't do this, new theats can possibly compromise you machine. P-chilling is my favorite application to protect agisnt viruses and it also provides parental control which protecting your family from browsing to non-appropriate websites.

Best of luck and thanks for the question
